Our craft afternoon are held on the third Wednesday in every month and run from 2pm-4pm. They are hosted by members in their own homes. Sometimes they take the form of a knit and natter session where people bring their own craft activity along - not always knitting, and usually more natter than knitting. On other occasions a member leads the session and everyone has a go at making the same thing. These occasions are full of concentration and hilarity, and of course there is always cake. January 16th It was agreed that we would contribute to WOOL@J13 again this year. The theme is a woollen farmyard. Over the next three to four months we will be making a playmat, knitted tractor, a flock of sheep and other animals if we have the time.
The knitted/crocheted/felted/sewn items will be sold and the money raised will go to Baggy Trousers, the charity for Testicular Cancer, which has been chosen as the charity to support for the 2019 show.
April 17th Our contributions to the Woolly Farm at Wool@J13 is completed. We succeeded in making the playmat which had a barn and tractor, some sheep, a collie puppy, and a kitten. The event was very successful, raising around £650 for Baggy Trousers. Our play mat sold before the show had even started! The lambs were also very popular. Well done to all the team!
This was a craft and chat session while we discussed future projects!
July 17th After much debate about the ideas put forward for our centenary craft project it was decided that we would make a patchwork table centre piece.
